Revolutionary Waste Management Technology

BrewNature's advanced composting systems use proprietary microbial technology to accelerate the breakdown of organic materials, transforming waste into high-quality compost in record time. The technology is designed to address some of the most pressing global challenges: climate change, food waste, pollution, and organic waste management.

Accommodates food waste, plant material, animal parts and manure, and bio-solids from wastewater.

Step 1:  Feedstocks

Proprietary microbial aid is added to feedstock in the compost vessel to accelerate the breakdown of organic waste without destroying nutrients. The compost process takes only days instead of months.

Step 2: Microbial Aid

Mechanical technology mixes the microbial aid and organic waste in an airtight system without releasing methane gas or noxious odours. Very little operator attention is needed since the system is low maintenance and requires little energy for power.

Step 3: Vessel Processing

The end product is a high quality bio-fertilizer that can be pelletized for agricultural use or cheaply disposed of without harm to the environment. The volume and qualities of the compost can be customized easily.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is BrewNature?

BrewNature is a cleantech startup that designs and manufactures in-vessel composters using advanced bio-composting technology to convert organic waste into high-quality compost. We have both premade designs that accommodate a variety of sizes and also offer custom designs.

What types of waste can your composter process?

Our composters are designed to handle a variety of organic waste, including food scraps, animal manure, and biosolids from wastewater treatment plants. Current development focuses on processing slaughterhouse waste.

How does your composting technology work?

Our in-vessel composters use a blend of bacteria and enzymes optimized for different waste types, along with controlled environmental conditions (temperature, moisture, pH, and oxygen) to accelerate the composting process.

What are the key features of your composter?

Some key features include multiple sensors, PLC control, insulation for temperature efficiency, minimal maintenance, energy efficiency, and the ability to operate remotely using solar energy systems. It’s also customizable for specific enzyme and bacteria blends. The Composter requires minimal time to load and unload.

Is the composting process environmentally friendly?

Yes, our composter is airtight, capturing and treating all off-gasses to ensure no CO2 is released, reducing odors, and minimizing the environmental impact.

What sizes do your composters come in?

We offer a range of sizes, from 0.5 to 10 tonnes, to accommodate various needs. Custom solutions can be built to suit greater sizes upon request.

How energy-efficient is your composter?

Our composters consume about the same amount of energy as a washing machine. They can even operate using solar energy systems for remote operations.

What is the maintenance requirement for your composters?

Our composters are designed for minimal maintenance and operator intervention, ensuring a hassle-free experience.

How long does the composting process take with your system?

The composting process duration is 3–5 days, depending on the waste type, which can be up to 95% quicker than traditional composting methods. The compost only then needs to cure for 7–14 days outside, depending on the weather.

Can your composters be used in remote locations?

Yes, our composters can operate remotely and are designed to be energy-efficient, making them suitable for use in remote locations with limited infrastructure.

Who are your typical customers?

Our customers include those who currently pay for organic waste removal through shipping and tipping fees, as well as those who may sell the compost produced by our system.

Can your composters help reduce waste management costs?

Yes, our system can help customers reduce or eliminate waste management costs by converting waste into valuable compost, which can be used or sold.

What partnerships do you have for product development and validation?

We are working with the Saskatchewan Food Centre for piloting projects, the Feed Research Centre at the University of Saskatchewan to improve compost quality, and Saskatchewan Polytechnic for microbial analysis.

Are you collaborating with any other companies for technological advancements?

We are exploring collaborations with companies like Bio10 Agrobiotech Pty Ltd. for technological development and validation.

What are the environmental benefits of using BrewNature’s composter?

Our technology reduces greenhouse gas emissions by capturing and treating off-gasses, reduces waste sent to landfills, and produces high-quality compost that can enhance soil health. Current studies show that for each tonne of food waste diverted from the landfill 440kg of equivalent CO2 is saved from going into the atmosphere.

How does your technology compare to traditional composting methods?

Our system is faster, more efficient, and environmentally friendly, providing a controlled environment that optimizes the composting process.

What are your future plans for BrewNature?

Our future plans include scaling up production, expanding our customer base, and continuing to innovate in the composting and waste management space.
